IGLU Zigbee hub

Zigbee hub

One hub for the whole home

  • Up to 128 Zigbee devices – sockets, switches and sensors.
  • App IGLU SmartHome, Tuya Smart or Smart Life.

Zigbee hub – €39,90. Powered via a USB-C cable.

About the Zigbee hub

Single – 86 × 86 mm. Double – 157 mm, triple – 228 mm long.

Before you buy

Will it work in your home?

It’s easiest to replace sockets during renovation. Check four things – you can send the list to your electrician.

  • Installation An electrician fits it in place of a regular socket: live, neutral and earth.
  • Box Ø68 mm, at least 50 mm deep.
  • Location Not outdoors and not where water splashes – the sockets are IP20.
  • Internet A free cable port on your router for the Zigbee hub.

Safety

Heaters, irons and hair straighteners should only be switched off remotely, never on. For powerful appliances, choose a 16 A socket, and plug your fridge and router in where a schedule won’t switch them off.

The socket helps you switch off a forgotten appliance, but it won’t fix faults in your electrical wiring.

How to get started

  1. Choose

Sockets to suit what you’ll plug in, and one Zigbee hub for the whole home.

  2. Install

An electrician fits the socket in place of a regular one, and you connect the hub to your router by cable.

  3. Set up

In the app, name your sockets, for example “Water heater”, and set the schedules.

Not sure which socket goes where?

Tell us what you want to plug in and in which rooms. We’ll advise which sockets will suit you, how many you need and what to tell your electrician.

  • Free shipping
  • 30-day returns on orders placed by 31 December
  • Installation questions – we’ll advise
  • 2-year warranty

Frequently asked questions

What is the Zigbee hub for?

The sockets connect not to Wi-Fi but to the Zigbee hub. It’s a small device that you connect by cable to your home internet router. Through it, you control the sockets from your phone and set schedules and rules.

One hub is enough for the whole home: it handles up to 128 Zigbee devices – sockets, switches and sensors. The Zigbee hub costs €39,90.

What’s the difference between 10 A and 16 A sockets?

16 A sockets are designed for powerful appliances: an iron, water heater, kettle or washing machine. 10 A sockets have USB-A and USB-C ports (up to 20 W) and suit a phone, TV, lamp or computer.

On double and triple sockets, you switch each outlet on and off separately, and you can set a separate schedule for each one.

What’s worth putting on a schedule, and what isn’t?

Plug your fridge, internet router and Zigbee hub into a socket that no schedule or rule switches off. An aquarium filter and heater must stay on all the time – use a schedule only for the aquarium light.

A water heater – if it has a plug, its manual allows it to be used with a timer, and water heated overnight lasts the whole day. It needs a 16 A socket – €30. How much you save depends on the water heater’s power and the difference between your day and night rates.

A games console – when its standby mode is turned off and the game has been saved beforehand. The socket cuts the power, not the console itself, and cutting the power suddenly can corrupt data.

Can sockets switch off together with the light by the door?

Yes, if you control the hallway light with an IGLU smart switch – plastic from €31,90 or aluminium from €50. In the app, you set selected sockets to switch off when that light goes off, for example the coffee machine or your desk.

The rule will run every time you switch off that light, so choose appliances that shouldn’t stay on without you. Don’t include the TV or the fridge.

What if the internet or power goes out?

You can only control the socket remotely from your phone when your home internet is working. On the spot, you can switch it on and off with the button on the socket.

When the power comes back, the socket returns to the state it was in: if it was on, it switches on. So if an appliance shouldn’t come on without you, also switch it off with its own switch.

What can I set in the app?

In the app, you can see whether the socket is on and how much power the appliance is using right now. There you also set a schedule, a countdown, a child lock and the socket’s name, for example “Iron”. The socket has overload protection.

You can control the sockets with the IGLU SmartHome, Tuya Smart or Smart Life apps.

Do the sockets match IGLU aluminium switches?

The frames are aluminium and the same size, 86 × 86 mm. IGLU switches come in black, but not in silver. So next to a switch, choose a black socket.

For now, a socket and a switch can’t be put in one shared frame: each is installed with its own frame.
